Getting Crafty!

So I meant to post about this at the beginning of November... but I didn't. So I'm posting it now! I'm a currently obsessed with making wreaths. I was on pintrest at the beginning of this month and that is sort of where I got my inspiration for my task.

1 styrofoam board, hot glue, leaves, ribbon, and a door hanger.

My mom made the pattern for the "M"

And my Dad cut it out for me.

Then I started gluing leaves all around it.

Almost there...

Ta da! :) The finished product!

I was very proud of myself for being crafty for once in my life other than girls camp... ha ha. Every time I would walk through the door I would just have to stop and stare at my work... ha ha.

But now, fall is over. So i'm currently in the process of coming up with my NEW wreath for this month. Yes, I'm going to make this a monthly ordeal. Anyone want me to make you one? It keeps me occupied, and I just love making them! Ha ha. So just let me know! I'll make sure to post about my new wreath as soon as it's done! :)

November 24, 2010

T'was the afternoon before Thanksgiving
and not through the house
Two best friends went into the freezing cold canyon
Wearing a jacket and blouse. (rhymed with house)

All the boxes were packed
by the fire with care
In hopes to delete memories
Into thin air.

The two were all nestled
in blankets up to their heads
And watched as old memories
Burned into shreds

Freezing with no kerchief
and neither with cap
They hopped in the car
and never looked back

They smiled and laughed
with loud happy chatter
And sipped their hot chocolate
with nothing the matter

With the past now behind
In a pit full of ash
The two didn't know
change would come in a flash

Later that night
while watching a show
The two sat closer
By the fire light's glow

Neither expected
the event to take place
but then their two little hands
softly embraced

What was only a dream
for him and for her
was now a reality.
THAT was for sure.

It's now been a year
since that wonderful day
And with this post
I'd just like to say

That evening has changed
our lives for the best
The two best friends?
Who would've guessed!?........ (everyone)

I hope you've enjoyed this story
And now you can all sleep tight
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to all
and to all a good-night!

I love you Jacob. :) Happy One Year Anniversary! :)

Trunkie.....

Yes, you read right...

.TRUNKIE.

I don't know what it's been, but I think that I, along with my very sweet and patient mother, can attest that I can indeed fall under this title... and have been classified as such, for about...
12 days now. Ha ha.

I think it might be because on November 24, it'll be exactly a year ago (on that day) that my best friend of 2 years held my hand for the very first time. So I guess this month is just a walk down memory lane... where it all started... where my life completely changed for the best, and I became happier than I EVER imagined I could EVER be. So how could I not be trunkie? My poor amazing mother has patiently sat and listened while we've had our late night talks as I melt down, cry, and feel like the day will never come that I get to see him again. Trust me, this is truly an endeavor.

Anyway, as I was reading up on all my friends blog, my dear friend Marissa posted a video on her blog. Let me tell you... cutest video EVER. Tears rolling down my face... even for 5 minutes after the video was over. Watch this, but make sure you get some tissues first.

Is that not the cutest and sweetest video you've ever seen?? Sigh... I've watched it about... 5 times, and have cried. every time. Ha ha.
OH how I miss my boy...

Also on November 24, from what Jacob has been saying in his letters, will be the day that I can say Jacob will be home in SIX months!!!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!? six. months.

Some days I think 6 months feels like an eternity... but then I look back and honestly, these next 6 months are going to FLY by!!! I mean it's already been 10 months since I saw him last, 6 is a piece of CAKE! I can do this! I remember February 1st like it was yesterday... honestly... 6 months is so so so so soon.

Anyway, that's just a little bit of what's going on right now.. I think I may just be trunkie this entire month... nope... I'm positive I will be. Ha ha. But it's okay. :) Six months. :) :) I can do it. :)
....... and THAT'S a sip of Livi's Lemonade! :)

see you in six elder :)

die{t}

Am I the only person that's realized that the word die is in diet?? Maybe that's because this satanic word has entered the Mabey home and I've had to come to terms with it.... ha.

Trust me... it was a rough few days. Yes I stuck to the diet, but had plenty of melt downs on the side. Phrases like, "I can't do this", "I'll just be fatty McFat face for the rest of my life", "I'm hungry","Whats for dinner?","Can we just get pizza?", etc., have escaped my mouth numerous times this week.

BUT here I am... 5 days later, and 5.8 pounds LIGHTER!!!

This diet is oober paying off, and I feel so good! A few clothes that used to fit me skin tight on Monday, fit perfectly today! It's amazing how good you can feel with just a 5.8 pound difference! I must admit... in the last year, I've hit an all time high in the weight department. It's been really hard since I stopped dancing... But I'm proud to announce I am going to do my best to never go back! I feel so much healthier, and so much better about myself... I like this feeling too much to go back. Ha ha. And yes, I know, just like everyone, you're always going to gain it back again, but I'm going to do my best to stay on top of it.

My parents and I have a goal that between the 3 of us, we're going to loose 100lbs by Christmas. We're already at 17.8lbs and it's only the first week. "We {Mabey's} are invincible!" (sorry... Little Women quote...ha ha)

So that's what has been going on in my neck of the woods... here's hoping to more success!!

My Job

(Halloween)

I am honestly the luckiest girl in the world, and not many people can say that when it comes to their jobs. :) You see, I get to spend my days playing with 4 adorable little girls. The most adorable little girls in the entire world! Sometimes I get so excited to go to bed because I know that when I get up, I get to go over to their house! :) Ha ha.

I love the giggles, the smiles, the tears, the screams, the funny phrases, the slobber, the potty training, the boogers, the tickle fights, the scaring, the messes, and basically... EVERYTHING about it!

We do fun things like...

Make Forts

Go to the Bean Museum at BYU

Make mummy hot dogs

Get ice cream... ha ha

When we went to New York, I was seriously missing these girls. There were mascots walking around and 2 of them were Elmo and Mickey. And right when I looked at them, I could here Taya's little voice in the back of my head yelling, "EMO!" and "MICKAMOSE!". I was ready for the vacation to be over so I get back to their house! Ha ha. Not even kidding!

I got them all a little gift, which just happened to be the popular, I {heart} NY shirt.

Malia and Summer were at school, so here is a picture with Ember and Taya in the shirt. :)

The girls also love to steal my phone and take pictures of their sisters. Ha ha. And I never realize it until I'm looking at my phone a few days later and have about 10 new pictures of Taya posing and doing silly faces... like this one... ha ha.

The list goes on and on about why I love my job. I honestly feel SO lucky to be able to spend every week day with these little girls. They are so cute and so much fun to be around! They can turn any bad day into a very, very good one! So thank you Karen for letting me watch your girls! You have NO idea how much it means to me! :)
